In a nutshell, the book is said to do a deep dive into Bryant’s famous “Mamba Mentality” which could be summed up as his approach to the game of basketball, and ultimately to life. His goal is to take students of the game of basketball on a journey into his mind and what fueled is 20 year NBA playing career. Topics such as how Bryant studied his opponents to how he fought through crippling injuries to still be the dominant player that he was.
With photographs provided by Hall of Fame photographer Andrew D. Bernstein, you’ll see Bryant’s first and last photos as an NBA player and the many others that came in between. There also will be presentations by Bryant’s former Hall of Fame coach, Phil Jackson as well as NBA All-Star Pau Gasol.
Known for his stoic demeanor at times during his career, Bryant has basically been an open book since his retirement and is fully embracing his role as teacher. The book is now available for pre-order with Amazon, Barnes & Noble and IBooks.
